About the Author

All words on this site are written by me, Quincy’s father. From studying Quincy and belonging to support groups, I’ve learned volumes about Neurodiversity of the brain. It’s been my obsession for 10 years and counting.

Since Quincy’s Genetic Disability is so extreme, affecting less than 1% of the population, I more often found myself discovering the truth behind my own struggles. Self-diagnosed at 45, I’ve survived, but not without meltdowns, elopement, and executive dysfunction. I see my life so differently now. I’m more at peace with the past and I make better decisions in the present.

But Quincy experiences life so drastically different. He shattered my limits, while I was learning his. He brought much enlightenment to us all. I love him so much. Yes, I can speak well and I learned to mask in social situations, but I deeply relate to my Nonverbal Sun. Teachings come in all forms. -be
